Class 37/0 Details:
Introduced: 1961-65
Engine: English Electric 12 cyl 12CSVT of 1750 b.h.p. at 850 rpm.
Weight: 105 tons
Brake Force: 50 tons
Maximum Tractive Effort: 55500lb
Transmission: Six English Electric axle-hung nose-suspended traction motors

Notes:
37001-119 were built with split box headcodes while the rest were built with central headcodes. Split boxes were removed on refurbishment or after accident damage.

Refurbished locos fitted with electric train heat. Main generator replaced by alternator. Regeared CP7 bogies.

Class 37/6 Details:
Originally refurbished for Nightstar services. Main generator replaced by alternator, re-geared bogies and UIC jumpers.

Refurbished locos. Main generator replaced by alternator. Regeared CP7 bogies. Ballast weights added. Maximum Tractive Effort: 62000lb
Class 37/9 Details:
Refurbished locos. Fitted with Mirrlees MB275T of 1800 b.h.p. at 1000 rpm or Ruston RK270T of 1800 b.h.p at 900 rpm.
